It's official: Scratches Director's Cut to be re-released!

And just in time for Halloween! This is it, folks: the very best version of Scratches, including everything that was ever made for the game and all bugs squashed.

It’s being released pretty much everywhere by Meridian4:

Sweet dreams! :paranoid:

UPDATE: Now available on Big Fish! http://www.bigfishgames.com/download-ga … index.html

Good stuff for haloween =)
Won’t we get confused if it has the same name as the previous release though?

No, I don’t think so… It’s been a while!

Thats great! Unfortunately there’s not much written there, not even a price.
Will other languages be included?
Will the soundtrack be included? (Ok, I already got it, so that wouldn’t be an issue for me  )
Will there be all the trailers, screenshots, wallpapers, teasers, etc.?
I remember there was a loooong long time ago a beta-linux port (I remember the thread was missing later in the old forum…) I guess this won’t be included, does it? But never mind.
Will the source code be included? just kidding

Thanks. I think I will buy it in any case.

Argh! Questions overload! :?

Let’s see… price will be 10 bucks (a bargain!). Can’t say anything about the soundtrack at this point (ahem ). The original trailer might be re-released, not sure about demo and other goodies. As for the long-rumoured Mac/Linux ports, don’t get your hopes up for the time being. Sorry, right now I’m 100% focused on Asylum :frowning:

But… you never know what the future might bring!

:D This makes me very happy!!!!!

Tomorrow, guys

Unfortunately, it looks like the release didn’t make it for today, but it’s very possibly going to be released within the next few days

Hey now, that’s awesome. I don’t know a whole lot of (contemporary) games that have been distributed by more than one company.

Just a quick update: the new release is currently in beta-testing and so far no new problems have appeared. The release was delayed because of Windows Vista, 7 annoyances (after all, the game has to comply with the new systems) but it’s doing great now. This is going to be the must bug-less release of Scratches ever! :sunglasses:

Awesome! Of course this means I will now own 3 boxed copies of the same game, each one enhanced a bit more, but that’s okay, it makes my collection look cool. Only please, no online activation, I don’t buy those. Disk check okay though if need be. I’m a collector, and like my games independent from outside sources to install

Anyway, I wish all developers took the time to update and enhance their games, even years later. Senscape I think is rare in that respect. I love this genre, and I further love to replay games years later down the road. Your willingness to update for newer OS’s is simply amazing these days.

Although, I’m running Vista Premium 64 bit, and I swear I didn’t have any trouble installing or playing the last disk-based version. I just installed it and it worked fine. Can’t speak for Win 7 yet though, as I don’t have that OS quite yet…

Best wishes to you all.

It’s finally available!!

Hmm… no :frowning:

See the first post. I meant on BigFish

Ah, I see… just tried the downloader there with Wine for the demo version, unfortunately with no luck :frowning:
I hope there will be a boxed version, too? Especially for games like Scratches I like to put something nice in my shelf. (And no, a burned cd/dvd is /not/ sufficient!)

Yeah, I know… Unfortunately, I can’t tell for sure yet if there’s going to be a boxed release. Depends on the success of the digital versions first, I guess :frowning:

Take a trip to Poland (You shouldn’t have too far  ), You can still find it on the shelves over here.
Thing is, it’s not even the Director’s Cut, but the first version … and I don’t suppose You see anything out of those old releases anymore, do You Agustin?

I’ve seen the first version in stores last year, I don’t remember seeing Director’s Cut here.

The original red box might become a collector’s item soon, you know!

Oh, I do hope so! I would love to be able to retire by selling my original first-run Scratches to someone in Slovakia…
